Itinerary

This itinerary gives you a flavor of the trip, however all our trips are custom designed, so once you get in touch with us, we can make any additions or adjustments based on your dream itinerary!

Pick up from the airport at your arrival time and transfer to your riad in the old medina, two minutes’ walk from the famous square Jamaa El Fna.

Founded in the 11th century and renowned for its treasure trove of mosques, palaces, and museums, Marrakesh is the most visited of Morocco’s four Imperial Cities. At its heart is the medina, the original walled settlement around which the rest of the city was built. A maze of narrow streets and magical souks, its cobblestone streets are traversed by pedestrians and donkey carts instead of cars, and have changed very little in the hundreds of years since they were first laid out. Feel like you have stepped back in time!

Depending on your arrival time you may either wish to relax this afternoon on your riad’s sundrenched terrace, or wander around the souks and Jma al Fna this evening. Everything comes to life at nighttime in Marrakech!

Step far beyond the tourist trail and into the heart of Amazigh (Berber) life with this unforgettable day in the High Atlas Mountains. Just 65km from Marrakech, yet a world away, this immersive experience offers a rare opportunity to connect with a remote village community that few visitors ever see.

Accompanied by a local guide—an inspiring young woman who was the first in her village to finish high school—you’ll journey by 4×4 through stunning mountain landscapes to her family home, where you’ll be welcomed with traditional tea and warm hospitality.

From there, venture deeper into the Azzaden Valley, near majestic Mount Toubkal, and settle into a peaceful mountain lodge. Take part in a hands-on cooking class with village women, learning how to prepare authentic Moroccan tagine and salad. After lunch, explore the village on foot, visit local fields and rivers, and learn to make tannourt, traditional Amazigh bread, in the home of a local woman.

This is more than just a day trip—it’s a meaningful cultural exchange. Every part of the experience is rooted in and run by the community: from your guide and driver to the cooks and host families. By joining, you’re directly supporting education, women’s empowerment, and sustainable rural tourism in the Atlas Mountains.

Full day in Marrakech: after breakfast in the mountains, we will return around 1.5 hours back to the city.

Discover the heart of Marrakech on our immersive half-day walking tour. Your expert local guide will meet you at your riad after breakfast, before leading you through the city’s vibrant history and culture. Visit iconic landmarks like the majestic Koutoubia Minaret, the stunning Bahia Palace, and the historic Ben Youssef Quranic School.

Wander the winding alleys of the medina, where you’ll see skilled artisans at work, and end your journey at the lively Jamaa El Fna Square – Marrakech’s unforgettable cultural hub.

This afternoon, options include going for a traditional Moroccan hammam, doing some shopping in the medina, or taking part in an activity with a local artisan.

After breakfast we will leave Marrakech and head towards the beautiful Ouzoud waterfalls, one of the highest and most impressive in North Africa. Along the way, you’ll enjoy views of olive groves, small villages, and the changing landscapes of the Middle Atlas.

We will arrive at Ouzoud in time for lunch at a local restaurant overlooking the falls. Afterward, you’ll have time to explore the area, take a walk to the base of the waterfalls, and perhaps spot the playful Barbary macaques that live in the area. You can also enjoy the refreshing mist and even dip your feet in the water.

After breakfast, we continue our journey deeper into the Middle Atlas mountains, traveling through remote regions and lush valleys. Today’s route offers plenty of opportunities to stop and admire panoramic views, traditional villages, and the rugged mountain scenery.

We’ll pause for lunch along the way in a local village, before continuing towards Aghbala, a small and quiet mountain town known for its crisp air and tranquil atmosphere.

On arrival, we will check in to our guesthouse, where you can rest, enjoy dinner, and spend the night in this peaceful corner of the Atlas.

After breakfast, we will depart from Aghbala and make our way towards Azrou, a charming town surrounded by cedar forests. The drive takes us through more scenic mountain landscapes, dotted with grazing sheep and traditional stone houses.

Stopping at the majestic Cedar forest of Azrou, the largest one in Morocco, if we are lucky we will see some Barbary apes. Here you can take a walk through the forest.

After Azrou we will continue through the mountains to Ifrane. Situated in the northwestern slope of the Middle Atlas at 1630 meters above water level. With its broad avenues, wooden ski-style chalets and manicured gardens, this city is called ‘the Switzerland of Morocco.’ It was built by the French during the colonial period to mimic the ski resorts back in Europe.

We will spend the night in Ifrane, where there’s a possibility that you might see snow! Your accommodation is a chalet style lodge.

After breakfast in Ifrane we will start our visit to Meknes with the granary Sahrij Swani, used to store food and water for the ‘black Army’ of Sultan Moulay Ismael. We will visit the mausoleum of the Sultan and admire its Arab-Andalusian style. We will also see the tremendous gate of Bab Mansour.

Only 30 km from Meknes we will then discover Volubilis. The archeological roman site includes remains of astonishing mosaics, hundreds of Latin inscriptions and artistic materials.

After visiting Volubilis we will head through the stunning Rif mountains to the ‘Blue Pearl’ of Chefchaouen. Uniquely located in a natural reserve high in the Rif Mountains, this blue and white painted village is a haven of peace and serenity.

We will spend today exploring this mountain village in the heart of the Rif, known for its Moorish architecture and blue and white painted homes.

We will visit the medina to enjoy its cultural and historical heritage, wander the streets, see the picturesque Uta el Hammam square, the Rass el Maa Waterfall and, of course, the colorful shops filled with local crafts.

We can also walk to the Spanish Mosque that offers a very good view of the town and perhaps drink traditional mint tea at a cafe terrace while relaxing and watching people come and go.

After an exciting day in Chefchaouen, we will head through the Rif Mountains to the heart of the Middle Atlas. Our trip for today will finish in Fes, one of Morocco’s imperial cities which proudly is home to one the world’s oldest universities.

Breakfast in your riad, before your day of exploration in the old medina of Fez where you will visit the many hidden treasures that only the inhabitants of the place know about. Fes served as the capital of Morocco for more than 350 years and is home to the University of Al Karaouine, the oldest operating university in the world.

Your guided tour will take you to Moulay Idriss mausoleum, the Nejjarine Fountains and the Tanneries. After lunch you will also view the exterior of the Royal Palace and walk through the famous Jewish quarter “the Mellah,” where you will have the option to visit one of the few living synagogues in Morocco. Your tour of Fes includes a short visit to the famous ceramic factory, and then you can enjoy a wonderful panoramic view over the whole Medina of Fes.

We will leave Fes travelling towards the desert. We head to Midelt along the magnificent hills and mountains of the Atlas.

After Midelt we will drive through the fascinating Tiz n’Talghamt pass and the Ziz Gorge, taking in views of the High Atlas plateau. You’ll notice how the scenery changes to reveal hints of the desert as we approach the city of Errachidia. Here we will have lunch.

Afterwards, we will travel along the Ziz Valley, stopping for panoramic views along the way to Erfoud and Rissani until we reach the wonderful Merzouga dunes. Here, we will swap our motorized transportation for a 4-legged one (camel!) to enter inside the heart of the desert. Your camel ride will last around 1.5 hours, during which you will stop on top of a big dune to catch the sunset. Here you can also have a go at sandboarding (included).

When you reach the camp, you will find your luggage waiting for you and enjoy dinner before spending the night in the dunes, listening to traditional Amazigh music, or stargazing. Our luxury desert camp has cosy beds, hot water, showers and private bathrooms in each tent.

To get the most out of your desert experience, we recommend you wake up early in the morning to watch the splendid sunrise over the Sahara dunes. After breakfast in your camp, we will head out into the heart of the desert.

We will stop in Ramlia, a sleepy desert village and the end of the tourist trail. Along our way today your guide will stop to share with you his local knowledge of the desert, from edible desert plants and tree sap, to the signs left behind by desert creatures moving at night. We will take a picnic lunch before continuing our exploration of the surrounding settlements.

In the evening, we have a very special experience planned for you. You will spend the night in the sand in a tent surrounded by nothing but the desert. Unlike other camps, there are no other tents – this is a truly authentic desert experience.

The tent is set up for you by local nomads, and you will learn how to cook tagine over a wood fire and bake bread under the sand using hot coal embers.

You will enjoy dinner in a secluded spot, before spending the rest of the evening relaxing under the stars and soaking up the silence of the desert.

After breakfast we leave the Sahara, stopping along the way to visit a local family.

We will have lunch in the valley of Toudra, one of the oldest valleys in Morocco for caravan trading and where the first Moroccan money was made out of silver. A beautiful valley of 15 km of date palms ends up with a spectacular gorge. The course of the river has carved out a cliff-sided canyon. You will have some free time to walk through the gorge to better appreciate the beauty of the landscape.

Next we head for the Dades Valley which has an astonishing rock formation made by millions of years of erosion. We cross the Rose Valley, the only place in Morocco where we harvest Damascus roses from which we extract products like rose water and rose oil.

Overnight in Ouarzazate.

After an early breakfast in your riad, we start our journey to reach the ksar (fortified village) of Ait Ben Haddou, where we will visit the famous Kasbah (declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986). We will also have the chance to take a guided tour of the Atlas Studios. Famous films have been shot in this spectacular stage, including Gladiator, Sahara with Penélope Cruz and Game of Thrones.

After visiting the kasbah we will head to Marrakech through the Tizi n’Tchka pass. At 2.260m we can enjoy spectacular views. We will enjoy beautiful landscapes from the viewpoints along the way, before arriving to Marrakech at early evening.

Today your adventure with us ends! We will pick you up from your riad and take you to the airport after what we hope has been an unforgettable adventure!
