Our 'stay putter' Atlas trekking trip, based in a local guesthouse with day hikes each day
The High Atlas is home to the highest peaks in Morocco. The legendary Toubkal and M’Goun, which reach more than 4,000 meters, have become a must-see for hikers in the high mountains.
The High Atlas is accessible to all, from family hikes to more demanding hikes, and offers a multitude of spectacular landscapes (gorges, valleys and villages
This 3 day trip is based in the mountain village of Imlil, which will be our base for the duration of the trip
Each day we will take day hikes to visit some of Imlil’s most spectacular scenery

The below itinerary is an example of our most popular route, however once you get in touch with us we will work to plan your perfect trekking program.
Today your private driver will pick you up from your hotel or riad in Marrakech and transfer you to the mountain village of Imlil
Once in Imlil, we will take a hike to the Imlil Waterfalls, visiting the village of Imlil itself, before heading to our guest house for the night.
You will enjoy a tasty home cooked meal in your mountain guest house
After breakfast at the guesthouse we will set off heading up to Chamharouch, a small village and a pilgrimage site at an altitude of 2400m where we also stop for lunch
Chamharouch, or Saint Chamharouch, is regarded as the King of Jinns, worshipped in a pre-islamic Marabou shrine – a large boulder painted white. Sidi Chamharouch is a famous pilgrimage site in Morocco where people visit for healing health problems, exorcising spirits, solving problems or for wishing good luck.
In the afternoon we will return back to our guesthouse for dinner and rest
Trek to Tizi Mazik for another spectacular view of Imlil valley and Azzaden Valley. After hiking down to Imlil valley you will be picked up for your private transfer back to Marrakesh.
We will send you a full packing list after you confirm your trip.
In general you will need good walking boots, clothing for both warm weather e.g. shorts and t-shirt and cold/rain/snow e.g. waterproof jacket, trousers, gloves and hat.
You will also want a small rucksack, sunglasses and suncream.
Accommodation for this trekking trips is in a local guesthouse where you will spend two nights. You will have a private room with private bathroom and home cooked meals.
There is an option to upgrade to a more luxury option if you’d like some pampering at the end of a long day of walking!
