Taking advantage of the new Ryanair flight route from London Stansted – Ouarzazate, you will fly directly into Ouarzazate city, known as the ‘gateway to the desert.’
You can also fly to Ouarzazate from Barcelona, Paris, Casablanca and Rabat.
From there, we will depart on a 4-day circular desert adventure, finishing in Ouarzazate. Flying directly into and from this airport reduces the driving time spent on desert tours departing from Marrakech or Fes, and allows you to take the desert at a slower pace.

Arrive to Ouarzazate, where your driver/guide will be waiting for you at the airport. We will head out of the city, driving through Skoura, where we will visit the Kasbah of Amerhidl. We will then continue through the Rose Valley and Kalaat Mgouna, known for its beautiful pink roses, rose oil and the yearly festival of roses.
We continue driving to the village of Ksour of Ait Youl, known for its rocky slopes with and beautiful palm grove. After reaching Ksour Ait Arbi (The Hills of a Thousand Bodies), you will be impressed by the eye-catching rocks that look like human feet. We will take a short stop, then we keep driving till we get to Taghia n’Dades and Msemrir.
We will have a lunch break at the fabulous Gorges of Todra, you can take a moment to relax by the riverside and appreciate the extremely beautiful, wild landscapes. After lunch, we will drive further east along the Tinejdad Valley, palm groves and stark hills to get to the fascinating dunes of Erg Chebbi in Merzouga.
On arrival, we will swap our motorized transportation for a 4-legged one (camel!) to enter inside the heart of the desert. Your camel ride will last around 1.5 hours, during which you will stop on top of a big dune to catch the sunset. Here you can also have a go at sandboarding (included).
When you reach the camp, you will find your luggage waiting for you and enjoy dinner before spending the night in the dunes, listening to traditional Amazigh music, or stargazing. Our luxury desert camp has cosy beds, hot water, showers and private bathrooms in each tent.
This is a complete ‘desert day.’ This morning you have a ‘date with the sunrise.’ When you are in the middle of the desert, waking up early is a must to watch the spectacular sunrise from the top of a dune close to the camp. After breakfast we will return to Merzouga. Then, we will skirt Erg Chebbi, a great extension of sandy desert where we can find the Big Dune of Morocco, more than 250m high.
We will continue by the former ‘Paris-Dakar Rally Road,’ stopping at the Tissardmin oasis where we can find fossil quarries still present in the area. We will continue by road, passing nomad settlements, where we can stop and enjoy tea with the families living there to learn more about their way of life. The next stop will be a high viewpoint where you can see the whole of Erg Chebbi.
Next we will reach Kamilia Village. The inhabitants of Kamilia came to Morocco from Mali, and we will take a relaxing cup of tea whilst listening to some of their traditional Gnawa music. In the afternoon, we will head to your Merzouga desert hotel, where you have free time to enjoy the town or the dunes next to the hotel to see the sunset. Dinner and night in the hotel.
After breakfast in the desert, we will head to Agdz off road via the famous moto-rally road connecting Paris to Dakar. In the afternoon we will arrive to Agdz. With endless palm groves and beautiful earthen clay architecture, the fortified ksour village of Agdz is located on the old caravan route connecting Marrakech to Timbuktu and played an important role for merchants carrying goods across the Sahara.
We will take a drive to visit the Tizgui Pools, a magnificent natural pool surrounded by palm and fig trees, where you can take a dip if you are feeling brave. We will return to spend the evening in a beautiful lodge nestled in the palm groves, where you will enjoy dinner.
After breakfast in Agdz, we will head back to Ouarzazate airport or coach station.
